After reading your question and so many answers provided (either in sane way or witty way) by answerers all I wish to tell you that you should have more specific in your asking. No counsellor can get the perfect idea about why do you wish to avoid sex with your husband....and that too for a while. Because everyone asks you in first place "Why?".....is there any physical problem you are suffering...or whether you are becoming bore with sex or there is some internal conflict and you do not wish him to touch you? etc.
If these are not options with you and you simply wish to avoid sex, then I am sure you have already have lots of answers. Hope one of these will give you to sort out. Best luck.

Divorce him.

Since he is your husband and you want to avoid sex with him for a while then leave him. I just love these questions when the facts aren't known.

Oh another idea have him go into the service when he is gone you will be able to avoid sex with him.

Why does you question say how to avoid sex with my husband?

Shouldn't it say how do WE avoid sex for a while??

1. You shower once a month.
2. Eat lots of Italian food w/garlic&onion. Then
don't brush your teeth before bedtime.
3. Start a fight before bedtime every night.
4. Allow your St. Bernard dog to sleep between
you and hubby every night.
5. Tell him that you are still on the 'rag'.
6. Threaten to cut his 'organ' off if he tries
anything. And leave the butcher knife on
your nightstand as an warning.

Give him permission to have sex with someone else for a month.

He won't mind.

You could even surprise him by bringing women home with you for just that purpose. Then, while he is in the bedroom having sex with her, you can watch The Price is Right on t.v.
(always bid low on the showcases).

Just tell him. Don't keep him in the dark. Just tell him that you have lost interest in he's love making.
And maybe its time to sit down and work things out.
Put all your cards on the table, and see what he thinks.
You have to face that bull, and grab it by the horns.
Tell him, it might be time to end your marriage, and both of you to seek a new life's. Good luck.

Just when he asks to be intimate....you could always say hey honey I contacted the Tax Office today.... and ......
or start talking about the kids.....
or mention your fishy smell could possibly be from a yeast infection perhaps.....
or that you were feeling very fertile at the moment and were worried you could fall pregnant??
or you could just start yawning or snoring.........
