All your questions on all 3 probably would have the same common denominators for factoring in a result by the following:
1. Medium Average Annual Income Level.
2. Import /Export Ratio which is the figures used for a GNP (Gross National Product)
3. National Defense Spending
4. Natural Resources(which determines other factors in this equation such as exports in farming ,tourism ..etc.)
5. The Arts, contributions to the world's social expansions such as music, literature, etc.
Obviously the government has some bearing on this rating. Underdeveloped nations seem to have dictatorships in power, where democratic structures in government including Russia seem to do better in this rating.
Nuclear Power enhancements for "good uses" such as solar energy etc, machinery, defense ..have played a role in this rating since the mid 20th century.
Also the credit rating in the World Bank including Income /Debt ratio plays a big role also in determining where a country should be ranked.
Hope this helps!
