It shouldn't be a problem as they only want to verify your details and if you the same person as the one cashing the cheque.

You cannot You will need a valid government or state issued picture ID to cash a check. Borrow $20 or whatever it costs to go get a state ID at the DMV (not a drivers license, it is just an ID) Then, you can cash your check and pay the person back. Don't you have a bank account where you are going to school? That would have helped in this situation. You could have just deposited the money in your bank account and used a debit card.

It depends on where you go and if anyone knows you. I know that banks can be sticklers on that. So I would suggest going someplace where someone knows you or a department store or even a tavern or liquor store. I even had a bar from out of town not let me enter because I had an expired ID- crazy, huh?

Thats up to the place you cash it. Usually one of those check cashing places will say no.

Try one of those Vcom machines in 7-eleven.

If it is at a bank, most will not care. You have the picture to prove who you are, they don't care how you got there.

But....
Some may be sticklers and say you must have a "valid"ID.

I worked at a bank for years and we had to always cash the check regardless if it was valid or not...
