I am 8 months pregnant. And this is not my first pregnancies. My question is about labor. How long can I wait till I go to the hospital? I feel very uncomfortable in the hospital during the long period of labor. The hospital I`m going is very close to my place (Its only a walking distance), so when I have my contractions, is it okay if i wait untill my water bag breaks?

I hope that you are seeing a doctor--prenatal care is very important! Talk this question over with the doctor. They usually aren't in favor of women showing up in early stages of labor and he or she will be able to tell you how late you can safely wait.

Congratulations!

It depends (If I Remember From What My Wife Kept Drilling Into My Head) On The Contractions Since Your Water Can Break Very Early Or Very Late.

If It's REALLY Close You Can Probably Wait Until 5-10 Minutes Apart, But Again It Depends On How Fast You Progress (Dilate).

Definately Ask Your OB/GYN

talk to your doctor about it, usually they tell you to go when the contractions are 5-10 minutes apart or earlier if there are problems. You can't wait for the water to break because it can happen at any point in labor

Yes, but why would you do that, as soon as you feel contractions go to hospital, why bother? Or maybe if everything was going well through your pregnancy have you considered home labor?

No-I was told to go the hospital when my contractions were 5 mins apart.

babies have been arriving a long time before they built hospitals. you really don't have to go at all. but think on this - risk factor - if something goes wrong you'll get help faster if your already at the hospital. Are you willing to risk the baby's safety for your comforts of home?

Its perfect;y fine to wait till water breaks but after that head to the hosspital because you want the baby monitored once he or she has limited fluids ...good luck

When my wife started having contractions we went to see the doctor. Doc said "bring her back when shes about to kill you". 36 hours later my baby girl was born.
