When answering question i feel like am talking to a grey ,empty,emotionless,inanimate box/object!
P/S i know that some avatars do not reflect the real person!!

I love your question, in that its answer may hold a deeper meaning for you. My system here at home is a web tv (a limited resource I bought to assist my children while in school, and to be more in step with times. It can not be misused to the extreme.) I do not own a computer. Web tv is unable to use the information required to create an avatar. I made mine somewhere else. So dont be so quick to be offended. I hope this answer helps you when you personally consider more serious issues about other people. You know, dont be judgemental, because your prejudgements may be inaccurate. Hey! Good Mornng.

Some people have problems with uploading pics and sum people log on at work so dont have saved avatars etc.
I totally agree with you though, it makes you wonder who you are talking to if you dont have any idea.
Even though the avatars do not reflect real people they can give you an idea of what that person is like!

Some people can't be bothered, and others prefer to remain anonymous. Beware, certain sort of people are keen to mislead and therefore will choose an avatar, or a photo, which doesn't resemble themselves to try and impress or mislead. So in a way, a grey box is honest, and it depicts a lack of ego!

The grey box with a smle is the default. To have an avatar you have to pick and choose. Too much trouble at the moment, so I haven't. Also I didn't find anything suitable from the Yahoo collection of bits and pieces and would have to invent one of my own.

Your avatar has a grey background. People either haven't figured it out, or they don't want one.

Some folk here are mean and nasty, stalker types are here who cause trouble and pictures enable them to pick targets better....
Its a pity its like that.
It would be nice if we could all swap emials and phone numbers too but thats the case unfortunetely here.

lol, i tried to pick an avatar that looks like me.
although all the yahoo avatars are incredibly attractive, and that in itself is misleading.
