first the person who said you should have gone to your classes is an idiot and rude. Most babies have this problem, Babies are covered in folds and to be frank, crap gets stuck in them :)

wash with warm soapy water. My kids always liked it when I tipped their heads back (with full head support of course) and I would blow on their necks. Getting some air in there helps it not get too yucky :) But do talk to your doctor if it gets worse. I have a friend who child got a bad infection from his neck folds. But for the most part, keep it clean and as he grows the problem will go away

Hold the baby up and let the head drop back a little and clean the folds with a wet washcloth. Sometimes it can be hard to get in there but we gotta keep it clean too.

With a wash cloth or cotton wool and mild baby soap. It's red and smelly because of moisture getting trapped in there, make sure you dry it nicely after cleaning and everytime the baby feeds or spits up. Keeping it dry is the only way to heal it. If it is very red or uncomfortable for your baby, you can put some diaper cream (desitin, etc.) on her neck but basically keeping it nice and dry should do the trick.

When you have him/her in the bath, use a little baby soap on a disposable wipe. The wipe is small and gets into the small crevices. The wipes are also great between the toes and fingers. If the redness continues and still smells I would let the doctor look at it as he/she may need a special cream. Hope that this helps.

they told me at the hospital that if you didn't get their neck clean and get all the soap out of the folds that they could get a yeast infection in there. when mine was little during his baths, i would wash his face first without any soap, then soap up his washcloths and wash his neck before anything else. wash his cleaner parts like arms, legs, chest and back before dirtier things like feet and diaper area. then i would rinse him with fresh water using a glass to pour it on him. after his bath dry him off well under his neck and put some baby lotion on. if it doesn't clear up, i would call the dr because if it is a yeast infection, you'll probably have to get a special cream for it. good luck!

First and foremost, babies aren't breakable. They are actually quite flexible. When you are giving your little one a bath you need to gently but firmly take his/her chin and tilt back. (They will resist so you have to work fast). Use a washcloth and baby soap and gently wipe away all the little baby crusties. When done rinse with clear water. The last step is to make sure to dry under the neck well. You can check out the web site babycenter.com too. They have tons of tips for new moms!!!!!

You can do the best job with your fingertips. Just put a very mild soap--the kind you use for the baby's bath is great--on your hands (diluted with water, of course) and pass your fingers over the baby's sweet neck.

Make sure you rinse the area well, and you may find that a bit of vaseline or medicated cream will help the redness to clear up.

Enjoy that sweet one of yours!

I would take a wet washcloth after his bate, and wip his neck, to make sure no soap got left behind. The best way I found to get access to his neck, is to put him an a one arm cradle hold. Most of the time, this hold will give you good access to his front and sides of the neck to get it clean. Good luck!!

Get a warm wash cloth and let your baby's neck fall back a little not to where it will hurt your baby Put the wash cloth over your finger flat and wash.
