Sulphur dioxide

2006-08-05 22:24:19 · answer #1 · answered by Nishant 1 · 0 0

When sulfur burns in the air, it will react with the oxygen in the air and form sulfur dioxide, SO2, which is an colorless, acrid and poisonous gas. Stay clear of it.
When released into the air, SO2 will react with water (H2O) and become the source of one type of so called "acid rain", which does so much harm to trees and other types of vegetation.
