I have had the same problems.. my probs were resolved by simply uninstalling all the USB ports through Device Manager and then rescanning the computer for any new hardware.. it would pick up the USB ports again and reinstall the drivers on its own.

doing this resolved my problem hopefully it does it for you as well.

It doesn't so much seem like a driver problem but software problem. Everything is driven by software and you will need to find the installation cds for your thumbdrives, zen mircro mp3 payer and cannon scanner. go to the manufactures' websites of each one of those none working items (like cannon website, zen micro and such). You may be able to download the software. You can also try download.com, they carry many many software and updates to software.

Also if you have a system restore disc, since you're reformated, you can restore your CPU to its previous state (not the data stored on the CPU but the programs).

This happened to my ipod as well. You can try this. Go to Control Panel, select Administrative Tools. Select Disk Management. Select the drive that looks most like your thumbdrive, zen micro (removable storage devices). Right click and change the Drive Letter.

Try detecting your thumbdrives in My Computer again.

Try this repair program from mircosoft. The Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard scans your computer devices to find defective AutoPlay settings, and attempts to fix those it finds.

you try to avoid always removing any usb device while working...you have to remove the usb device first you have to disable it through desktop icon after that you remove saftly...!
i think once you removed your pendrive as it is..thats why you are facing problem..so you need to install the driver again..1
