Normal is the collective opinion of the majority of a population. That could change from city to city, state to state, country to country, and so on. There is a set of acceptable behaviors that are mandated by society. In some extremes, there are societies that feel they can mandate what is normal to think, and to question that is not normal. You would stand out for stating a difference of opinion, but instead of shedding light, you would only have validated their accusations of being a trouble maker that needed to be dealt with. I agree to the set of normal behaviors as long as they are in adherence with common courtesy to one another, but that doesn't seem like the norm any more. It seems to have shifted to normality of a self serving nature, and this does seem to be the attitude of a great many.

What's normal versus non-normal is a question defined differently depending which kind of society or culture we're living in.
There's also a difference btw how society/or the majority of ppl defines "normal" and how individuals choose to handle this question.
Most ppl would agree it's wrong to murder, steal as an example how society agree on what is normal...
However, it's much more difficult to decide on a individual normality. Let's agree we're all responsible in some way according to the way we choose to live and the way we treat our neighbour.
I also think a majority of people would disagree to the fact that it is not an individual right to call another person bad nicknames, putting them in shameful situations etc, etc to give example:
"You're an idiot, don't write stupid answers."
(i'm glad there's an ignore function at yahoo.answers)
Sometimes I just wonder why some people ask this kind of questions.

Normal is something which is acceptable and agreeable by majority of the people in society. When majority of a people expect a certain thing to happen in a particular situation, then we see that as a 'normal' thing. So, what is normal depends upon the opinion of majority of people. What a few people think may be termed as indifferent or abnormal, if its not understood or accepted by many people.
It is not always possible to say that a particular thing as normal because the opinion of people will be different at different places and at different times. For Example, eating bread and jam for every meal may be normal thing in certain countries, but may sound absurd in some places where they eat rice or wheat as staple food. Hope you got my point. Normal is that which is acceptable and agreeable by majority of people of that particular place, society or country ! good luck. bye

No one is normal. Normal is in the eye of the beholder. You will get a different answer for everyone. Everyone is different. That is the beauty of it.
