Being senior at my old work place meant absolutely nothing. I actually had to train my new boss when I was rejected for the job and he had no prior experience. Then I also had to train the secretary he chose, also with no experience. Needless to say I wasn't there much longer.

Being a senior in any workplace generally is supposed to mean you actually know something. Unfortunately, it also means the company expects you to not only do your job, but often times, that of someone else as well without further compensation.

You are depended upon more. The boss expects more from you than the others when he or she comes up with the new goals for the team to meet.

You are senior just before you become over-qualified and unemployed. Start your own business!
