The only way it will "help" your relationship is if you are very comfortable with your sexuality. Since you are hesitant, it means you are not ready to take your experience with your man to another level like that.
He is open and close enough to bring up the subject to you, but you have right to feel the way you do. It is a freaky act to do, I will say that much. That isn't a bad thing.

As long as you are this uncomfortable with your own sexuality and your own body, then don't.
