It really is a matter of personal preference - shaving is generally pain free and if you do it everytime you shower (use cream/gel) it keeps your legs smooth and also takes of dead skin/impurities at the same time - which is a good thing.
If your wanting to wax go to a professional for the first time just as a trial run - test your pain tolerence and see how you like the effect. You can start out with have a 1/2 leg and see how it goes. If it's something you can see yourself doing get a home waxing kit (about $10 - $15) and make sure you have some baby powder so it doesn't stick to your skin (it's not fun when it does, you only want to remove the hair). Remember you have to let the hair grow back long enough for the wax to grip it the next time around, that might effect your choice.

It's honestly up to you. Shaving is a bit more work (you have to do it more often to keep yourself smooth and you have to be extra careful to not cut yourself...this can be painful!) and the act of waxing is more painful, but the results last longer. With waxing, you also have to wait for the hair to be a certain length. If you choose to wax, make sure you go to a certified waxer, or learn how to do it properly yourself (I personally go to a professional to get my waxes).
To get the best results from a shave, make sure you have warm, wet skin to start with, and use a shaving cream with the razor. Make sure your razor blade is new. If you are careful, this reduces cuts.
Good luck and I hope I've helped!

Shave or wax, do it the way you want. You may have cuts when you shave and waxing will also remove what you want removed and may last a bit longer.

Depends on where you are shaving. If it is your bikini area, shaving will leave bumps like pimples, if you wax it will be a nice smooth surface but it hurts more than shaving with a dull razor.

I hope you are talking about your legs or armpits, because if you are talking about your ladygarden, there is nothing more offputting than seeing it look like a three year old's. What is it these days with women wanting too look like children? and men fancying this? it is PERVERTED. Why does any man want a womans chuff to look like a child's?
As for the question, if you can stand the pain, and do not get a heat rash, then waxing gets better results. otherwise shave.

dear emma,
waxing is better than shave, if you do shaving all the hair will be growing faster than waxed hair. The growth of the shaved hair is worst and the hair will be very obvious, look at the chin and upper lips of men who used to have shaving, there are plenty of black dots and the surface is very rough.
think again!
