Its the same story everywhere, in every country. It is sad that the congressmen are their own judges and every year they raise their salaries. No congressmen objects to it. There must be some alternative arrangement for fixing the salaries of these congressmen. But they will never want to transfer this power to anybody else.

Their salaries must be fixed for a longer duration of time. But who will raise this issue? So the public must protest against these raises because it is ultimately the taxpayer's money .

Because they think they are holding the cards and no one will say differently. Congressmen also take luxurious trips at the taxpayers expense (so the tabloids have said).

Because they're greedy and they can. Personally, I would give myself a raise if I could too. The difference? I deserve it!

I don't know that it's yearly. But it shows how stupid we are for allowing such a government to exist.
