At frst I supported Bush's decision to invade Iraq and dismantle the weapons of mass destruction. Since the invasion and eventual capture of Saddam, the USA has made a mess of things in Iraq with the help, of course, of the Iraqis. Isn't it time for the USA to leave and let the Iraqis settle things for themselves? Of course, there is one major worry and that is will Iran move into Iraq. This would be a horrible thing to happen and would surely mean another great war.

We are now kind of damned if we do, damned if we don't. If we leave we leave the country open to attacks and civil war, and in a very unstable enviroment. If we stay, same thing.

I agree with John (your first answerer). We're basically stuck in a rut, damned if we do and damned if we don't. If our government leaves the troops over there, I'm afraid we are going to see more autrocities committted by troops against Iraqis. If the government pulls the troops out, there will always be another war. Let the Iraqi people learn to become democratic again. Saddam Hussein is no longer in power there. The country needs to rebuild and why would we want to try to force our many cultures onto someone is beyond my wildest imagination.

Millions of people (myself included) proudly protested against the invasion of Iraq going ahead, but your President, along with our Australian Prime Minister, turned a deaf ear to our pleas. More than 2,500 of your brave military personnel, and 40,000 plus Iraqi civilians are now dead. Iraq itself now stands on the brink of a civil war.

Haven't enough people been killed already? Would someone like to tell me what has actually been achieved since the invasion, or for that matter, why it had to happen in the first place? Forget about the crap about searching for Weapons of Mass Destruction... the search was already being conducted! Forget about freeing the world of the threat of terrorism... the threat is larger now than ever before! Capturing Saddam?... well, maybe. I'm not too sure. I'm wondering if it isn't a case of 'will the real Saddam Hussein please stand up'. Pardon my cynicism, but I just find it strange that the President of Iraq would have been found hiding alone in a hole the ground. That is where I would expect one of his doubles to have been hiding!

Anyway, I'm sticking to my guns that the Invasion of Iraq, should never have happened. The international community warned against the invasion taking place, but it went ahead anyway. The United States will eventually be forced to withdraw from Iraq... write it off as another Vietnam... welcome your troops home with pride, and salute those who have died, but don't expect that you have achieved a victory. Iraq will be worse off than how you found it, and it will be left for everyone else to try to clean up the mess!

Is it time to bring your troops home? If people were trying to kill you, would you want to be brought home?

The problem here is they withdrew too fast a decade ago. Had the troops just wiped out these radicals when we were in there the first time, we would not be here now. However, since we are, no, we should not. The problem obviously has not been solved as of yet and I won't be happy until these terrorist nuts have reached their final goal and gone to meet Allah. Good question!!

in case you have been enjoying...I recommend paying interest in school, there are 50,000 NONCOMBAT troops being left at the back of, some to proceed training military or police recruits, and a few for intelligence purposes. it is not a hidden fact, yet has been reported a minimum of seven cases in the final 3 days by ability of a sort of human beings, which contain President Obama.

NO IT IS NOT. We went in there and ****** with another cultures society and left it a mess. This is the fault of the govnt and anyone who supported this idiotic move. Now that the epople were dumb enough to follow the agenda of the govnt like pathetic sheep, they need to own up and take responsibility to help fix the region that we so haphazardly left a mess. The was never there to begin with. It was just a bully picking on a sick kid. We need to ACTIVELY LISTEN to what that nation wants and help the PEOPLE implement it. Our mess- our cleanup
