you cannot avoid pregnancy this way... it just lessons your chances of an infection... the best thing is to use reliable birth control

While it's true peeing after sex will get SOME of the sperm out, it's not really an effective form of birth control, your body kills small amounts of sperm to make sure the strongest one gets the egg (for a healthier fetus).. but I don't think urine does the trick. The most effective form of birth control (well other than abstaining) is the pill. You can also get a fertility monitor (I'm pretty sure you can get them at most stores (probably Wal*mart)), so you know when you're likely to get pregnant and when you should use a condom.

You have been lucky. Urinating has nothing to do with getting or not getting pregnant. This is one of those "old wives tales" that gets spread around as fact even though it is not and this cause thousands of girls to get pregnant. The only way not to get pregnant is to not have sex or to use an effective Birth control device like a condom, the pill, the diaphragm, or the sponge or some thing like that. Tell your friend to stop spreading this lie.

THERE IS A REASON YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PAY ATTENTION IN SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!
Flash back to 7th. grade science when you were SUPPOSED to be learning anatomy. HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED:
A woman has 3 SEPARATE holes.
The first one (clit) is where the pee comes from. It CAN NOT be used for intercourse, It is only the size of maybe the tip of a ball point pen. It will never be big enough for a penis, ever, ever, ever, for anyone.
The middle one (has nothing to do with pee) is used for intercourse, this is the same hole blood comes from when you are on the rag, and the same one your baby is going to come out of. This is where the penis goes, and once inside, if he comes, peeing is going to do absolutely to prevent pregnancy, because pee does not come out of this one.
The third is your butt hole, and........whatever, it's your body, but pee does not ever come out of this one either, but if it happens here, you CAN'T get pregnant, you can, however contract STD's from unprotected sex, even anal and oral, so be more careful and now you know.

Of course it's not true - you don't urinate out of your vagina, and that's where the sperm is. You can't douche it out either. You SHOULD be worried if that's the only birth control you're using. Hope you're ready to be a mom. If you're not, you shouldn't be having sex.

Edited to add: No, it doesn't lessen your chances at all, and the only sure way to not get pregnant is to not have sex. If you're not ready to be a parent, you shouldn't be having sex. Period.

Urine comes out of your urethra and the guy's penis is in your vagina during intercourse. Two distinctly seperate areas with no passageway between them. Your friend is WRONG. Oh, so wrong.

You have just been lucky. Correlating your behavior with preventing pregnancy is like saying that someone is fat because they drink water. Yeah, they might drink water, but that has NO correlation to them being fat. Just like you peeing directly after having sex has no correlation to you not becoming pregnant.

You don't pee through your vagina! So no, you CAN'T pee it out. You friend hasn't a clue.
Pee comes out of the Urethra, NOT the Vagina. The Urethra is the tiny hole above the vagina, and under the clitoris. Learn your anatomy. You're a girl, anyhow! You should know!

Your friend is SORELY misinformed. The pee does not come out of the vagina. It comes out of the urethra. Just because you haven't gotten pregnant yet doesn't mean that it won't happen. ALWAYS USE PROTECTION!!!

You do know that the pee comes from a different hole than the baby. Peeing after intercourse does prevent urinary tract infections which can occur and be very unpleasant.

where the semen goes in and where the urine comes out is two different holes. you can't pee out the semen. once it's in there it there. there isn't a way to force it out. your best bet is to prevent it getting in there. besides the risk of getting pregnant this way there is a risk of STDs. the old saying goes. no glove no love.
