Yes, they are emotional. But they're not "goth". Goth people are actually insulted by emos. Emos usually wear their hair over one eye, lots of black eyeliner, trashy dark clothes (goths usually wear more Victorian type clothes: corsets and that sort of thing). Their music usually has something to do with suicide, or cutting. And they cry a lot. About everything. Search for the "Emo Song" on youtube.com or google it. It's hilarious, and pretty much covers it.

Emo comes from the word emotional. Sterotypically someone who is "emo" might dress sort of a mix of gothic and punk.

EMO comes from the word "EMOtional".
It is sad, depressing form of rock alternative. A lot of people make fun of it because its predominant fans are whiny white teenagers. They are called "shoe-gazers" because they look at their shoes and sway during EMO when they pretend to be depressed.

Don't worry it is like country music for punky kids that like to dress in black like Johnny Cash
The Good Samaritan
I was walking across a bridge one day and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said, “Stop! Don’t do it!”
“Why shouldn’t I?” he said.
I said, “Well, there’s so much to live for.”
“Like what?” he said.
I said, “Well, are you religious or atheist?”
He said, “Religious.”
I said, “Me too! Are you Christian, Buddhist or Muslim?”
“Christian”
“Me too!” I said “Are you Catholic or Protestant?”
“Protestant”
I said, “Me too! Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?”
He said, “Baptist”
“Wow, me too! Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?”
He said, “Baptist Church of God”
I said, “Me too! Are you original Baptist Church of God, or Reformed Baptist Church of God?”
“Reformed Baptist Church of God!”
I said, “Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1889, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915?”
He said, “Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915.”
I said, “Die heretic scum!” and pushed him off
- Emo Phillips
This of course would be dlivered very dramaticaly with totaly over done joy. despair and satisfaction at the pushing. the over dramatization is a key point
