The best laptop now will have something called Duo Core. They are working with 2 processors which make them faster.
Also they come with 100Giga Bytes.. Do not accept less than that.
I know one of the quality laptops that people usually do not mention a lot is TOSHIBA. They have a Duo Core model with 100GB and 1GB RAM beside all the good stuff (CD-DVD burner, Internet.. etc) for $850. Look for it.

I dont mean to hijack this thread, but the generic question of what laptop to buy is a bit too vague for me to follow. So can anyone tell me specifically any issues or celebrations they had had using a dual core turion on a laptop. Im thinking of buying a reasonably priced laptop to run 64bit Linux, and the turion seems the best value/speed ratio, what do you think?
