Right click on My Computer, go to Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager. See if there is a yellow warning sign for your sound controller or card. Click on it and delete it. Restart the system. It will ask you to provide the driver for the Sound card. If you have the CD insert it or you may have to download teh drivers from the internet.

Don't worry thats not a big deal. you have to always remember that when ever u change your operation system then u need to re install your drivers aswell . Some drivers are automatically configured by win XP after reinstalling but some not,now u have 2 ways : 1. if u have your Sound card driver on CD (that u should have it) just install that. 2. If u don't have it just find out the model of your sound card then search it throw the net for the driver. if u still have some problem u can keep asking me
