haha i didnt know that. thats dumb. just a guess but maybe its because you cant get dirty needles. a used needle gets incinerated or whatever automatically after its used.

It is to protect the one who is euthanizing and the animal (or human in death penalty) incase of an error.

Human Euthanizing: being poked with the needle. Even though risk of being injected. However, a person can be poked but not injected. If the needle was not clean, high risk of infection that can cause death if not properly medically taken care of.

Human with death penalty: Incase that phone range while they are doing the procedure. (Proven Innocent). Then, he would be having infections which can kill him. Then those who place the needle will be up for Killing.

Because all needles are sterile when removed from their individual packaging. Beside, it's not like people save dirty needles for future use.

I'd imagine they use a generic needle designed for general medical use rather than ones just for euthanizing.

Plus, needles get tossed right after they're used, so it's not like they have used syringes lying around...
