in 1994 our reservation recieved a settlement for all enrolled members. but when checks were sent out , due to non delivery some checks were returned to treasury dept. in san fran calif.. can a check still be reissued to the members who never recieved theirs. is their a federal statute that states this.

No statute. You can go to http://www.unclaimed.org/ to locate and claim your money.

Most(if not all) Federal/State/City government checks are held in an unclaimed money fund when they are not cashed in an alloted time . It is your responsabiltiy to find out how to claim it(some states and the federal goverment broadcast a phone # on tv).
