The Greenwich Meridian was agreed upon as 0 degree longitude as the international standard in October 1884. At the behest of U.S. President Chester A. Arthur, 41 delegates from 25 nations met in Washington, D.C., USA, for the International Meridian Conference. France abstained when the vote was taken, and French maps continued to use the Paris Meridian for several decades.

Thus, 0 degrees longitude was decided by Birtain. Coincidentally, the Prime Meridian passes through the following countries including Africa:

a. France
b. Spain
c. Algeria
d. Mali
e. Burkina Faso
f. Togo
g. Ghana

O degrees longitude is actually decided to pass through Green Witch of England not through the Africa, you can think it as a coincidence. On the other hand 0 degree latitude is also not biased for Africa it is just for the reason that the earth rotates along this latitude.

When the latitudes were assigned to the planet, the first was a north - south line that happens to run through Africa as well as other places. The latitude is the equator - zero degrees.

The original landmass, Pangaea broke away and left fragments. Evolutions posit that things happen haphazardly. The first landmass surrounded Africa. The first institutions of higher learning: Grand Loge of Waat, Grand Lodge of Luxor, Grand Lodge of Thebes--all were in Africa. The first humans, the first architects, the first advanced civiilizations--Africa. The messages in the stars vet the messages of the earth, that we were made precicely, well-balanced and completely whole. Influenced by intelligent negative energy forces, we fragmented. Fallible men, burned libraries and then re-invented doctrines. Over 50 ancient prophets and thousands of writers attest to the consistency of God and His plans for humankind. Fickle, fallible and sometimes sinister-minded men--bring forth hypotheses from the fragments of those whose beliefs they want to expound and hope that over time, those myths would be concretized.
The sphinx, its meaning and its location is testament to the messages known/unknown, and allegedly destroyed. The same way Africa is O degrees North Longitude and 0 degrees West latitude is the same reason that a specific country is 30 degrees North Longtitude and 30 degrees West Latitude.

That location is NOT in Africa. 0 degrees longitude and 0 degrees latitude intersect in the Atlantic Ocean.

It wasn't intentionally put in Africa. Somebody decided that the north-south line would be the Prime Meridian, which runs through England and Africa. The east-west line is the equator. The place where they meet happens to be in Africa, but nobody chose that on purpose.

0 degree latttitude refers to the equator and the lattitude increases as it approached the poles. (hot to cold)

0 degree longitude refers to the Greenwich line. it is so because the British basically were the first persons to complete the world map.

It just happened to be that that place in Africa is on the equator and directly below Greenwich.
