A few days ago my left kneecap was sore I thought I had just strained it. Now the pain is gone from my knee but it has moved up my leg to my thigh right above my knee.

Not to scare you, but I knew a man a few years ago who had pain in his knees and his doctor told him it was nothing but arthritis and just to take pain relievers and he'll be fine. Well, that wasn't the case at all. It turned out to be cancer and by the time he was properly diagnosed, it was too late for him. He died within 3 months, I believe. I would advise you to go talk to a doctor about this pain and discuss what your activity and eating habits have been like in the past. It could be multiple things....

I had a similiar problem. You may not have noticed it then but your knee may have received a nudge while working and a nerve may have been pinched. The inflammation has travelled up the nerve and has made the thigh are feel sore; I take a 25mg Voltaren tablet at night with Zantec to protect the stomach (Voltaren disturbs it) and normally the pain disappears. But you may wish to consult someone. It works for me.
