Was he the best lineman of his era, or all time? Was he the best left defensive end or best overall lineman? Remember Richard Dent, Charels Haley, Bruce Smith, Deacon Jones etc.

Would you rather have Reggie White on your team or Lawrence Taylor?

Im a Wisconsinite. I am picking Reggie not only because of his athleticism, but because of his leadership skills. He could get anybody to kneel down for a prayer anytime. Win or lose he thanked god for blessing him and everything he represents.
He was a true player unlike many players today that care only about money and fame. Reggie kept it simple and praised his life. It seems that only the good die young, I wish money hungry players and overzealous players like T.O. or Holt would have taken his place. God Bless Reggie, a true minister of defense.

Tough question, I would put put Reggie White up there at number one. Bruce Smith, Deacon Jones, Lawrence Taylor, Richard Dent, and Charles Haley. Taylor is fast but White can power his way through better so I'd have to pick White. I'm interested to hear what your answer would be.

Deacon Jones is so far best D-end of all time. I would rather have Reggie White than L.T. though because Reggie White was more of a complete player on the run and the pass. Watch some NFL films of Deacon Jones. Different eras are hard to compare as well as its hard to compare offensive linemen with defensive linemen or d-ends with d-tackles. Don't forget about Howie Long. Sacks and stats aren't everything

I too am a wisconsinite and beleive that reggie white was the most physical presence to ever play d-line. but i do have to argue with a person above me who stated that reggie wasnt about the money like all the players today. Reggie White led a lawsuit against the NFL that created unrestricted free agency that allowed players to choose where they were going to go. he signed an unprecedented contract at that time (4 years 17 million) for a defensive player. and he stated at that time that "Money was important," White said, "because I needed resources to continue the projects I wanted to do."
Now i agree that this guy was a giant among men in the NFL but i dont agree with everyone trying to make him out to be a saint cuz he just wasnt. he was just as money hungry as the next guy and he was a bigot on top of that who shoved his religous beliefs down the throat of anyone that would listen. I would still take him over L.T. though.

I can't say all time, but he may well have been the best of his era...and considering they played different positions, why not have Reggie and LT on the same team? Without going through the research, I'm sure they must have played on at least one All Pro team together...as a class act, there were few I'd rate above Reggie White, though...RIP

Reggie White, he was pretty much as good as LT and you didn't have the off the field issues to go with it. As to if he was the best of all time can't really say. For one thing we can't compare stats. I didn't see the other's play. Also the game has changed over the years so one year he may have been the best but 10 years earlier the same playing style would have been terriable.

Reggie was great and a class act as well! I would rank him right up there with anyone! He was fantastic as a football player but an even better man!
