Actually, there's a "BUMP" and a "SPLASH" in the night at my house. You guessed, right, kiddies, it's my fat **** plumping on the toilet seat, and the sound of me dropping the kids off at the pool!! Yes, it's juvenile, but I don't care.

You can not run,
And you can not hide
Yeah you gotta face it baby
Things go bump in the night
Where ever you run,
And where ever you hide
Yeah you gotta face it baby
Things go bump, bump, bump in the night

there are many answeres to this...
one could be that it could be your parents doing "it"... that is if they think you're out of the house because you've been invited to party at your friend's house but you can't because you've got so much homework...
or it could be your imagination... either way *shrugs*

Probably that automatic, lunar powered bumper I have. I really don't know why I bought that thing.
