I love horror movies. I've seen a good number of them, but only a few I would consider to be great horror movies. What movie do you recommend? What movie still scares you when you think about it?

The original Haunting from 1962, directed by Robert Wise. Very creepy, and very psychological.

You've probably seen Kubrick's The Shining. I like it, but I have to think of it as separate from the book.

The original Carrie directed by Brian de Palma is very good.

My favorite Universal horror movie is The Mummy (1932) with Boris Karloff.

Too bad my friend isn't here. He's a real horror movie expert, and has seen at least 400 horror movies. He could suggest some real good ones.

texas chainsaw massacre is theeeee scariest movie I have ever seen in my entire life!!!! It's one of those movies you are definitely scared after watching it. Movies like Prom Night, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Room 1408, are movies that like make you jump but you aren't really so scared that you can't sleep that night. If you want like gory then watch like Saw. And the House of Wax with Chad Michael Murray and that guy from Gilmore Girls, it was a good scary movie, the story line was kind of stupid and the ending was lame but it was a good scary movie. Oh and if you don't like Paris Hilton definitely get House of Wax there's a scene when a pole goes through her head. Good luck and have fun!

The Changeling. It's best feature is in it's simplicity. A classic ghost story without the special effects. It doesn't need them. It always gives me goosebumps.
