Hello!

I'll go with the "old school" Marvel storylines. Although time in the books seems to have slowed, I like the idea that characters are growing and changing along with me. I love the ideas of the 1960's, with couples actually getting married, having kids, and others moving from high school to college. The readers' lives are changing, and it is refreshing to see the same in our favorite characters. Time passing is not a scary thing and shouldn't be treated as such. Continuity, although at times convulted, is refreshing, and I prefer it. Although the Ultimates line also has continuity, I guess I also prefer the older version since I am older, too.

I love the Ultimate Universe, but come on, there are only so many pop culture references one should be allowed to make in an issue ( I'm looking right at you, Bendis). These stories are a blast to read now, but 10 years from today, what will be the stories people talk about? The ones we still know and love today. Who HASN'T read Simonson's Thor, or Clairmont's X-Men? However, if the question is do I buy Ultimate or Original continuity titles, I have to go with Ultimate.

Not too keen on the Ultimate Universe. I prefer "old school" storylines. No one can forget The Dark Phoenix Saga--a classic. And what about The Clone storyline for Spidey?

The old X-Men comics when Chris Claremont wrote them WAY back in the day.

Why, because he was the one who basically put them on the map and made them the hit Marvel comics they are.

A lot of people don't know, but the X-Men book was cancelled back in the 60's and it took Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum and several others to breathe fresh life into the dead series.

Also, the old Legion of Super-Heroes series from the 80's;
Daredevil, when Frank Miller (of Sin City) was on it; several others of that time.

I have to go along with everyone else. I'm no fan of the Ultimate versions.

Old school all the way!

Old school all the way. Chris Claremont's Uncanny X-Men and Romita's Amazing Spider-Man, who or what could beat that?
