You are lucky. If there's any tumor to get it's a prolactinoma, which sounds like what you have. The thing with prolactinomas is that they can resolve on there own. This usually happens when it is managed medically, and the hormones that he has been giving you kinda shuts the tumor off. This can all be monitored through blood tests, and you don't need another MRI. Following it this way is common, and should not alarm you. He will probably follow you for a little while longer, and have you come back if you begin to have any symptoms. These symptoms would include losing your period when you are not pregnant, leakage from your breasts, headaches, and visual problems. Sounds like your doc is doing the right thing.

I'm a little confused about your doctors ( a genealogist??) It sounds as though you should be seeing an endocrinologist. If you haven't seen one yet, I would definitely ask for a second opinion or make your own appointment.

Is this a hereditary condition? I've never heard of genealogists that can diagnose let alone treat patients. I would definitely talk to a doctor about your health concerns.

She referred you to an endocrinologist? The endocrinologist is doing blood tests and giving you medicine for it ...
Has anyone mentioned Prolactin (the hormone) or maybe a prolactinoma?
Some types of brain tumour are amenable to treatment by medicine only.

insist on an MRI, just to make sure that everything is okay. you can never be too safe with this kind of thing. I'm sure you're fine, but when you're dealing with brain tumors, you have to definitely err on the side of caution. hope it all works out!

Pituitary tumors are only treated medicinally when they are too SMALL to qualify for removal- if you don;t trust ur doc, get a 2nd opinion.

If you want one fight for it. If the doctor is 100% sure you are OK then you might be able to take his words. But you could say to him unless your 100% sure not even 99.9% sure will do. Say its MY life on the line.
OR just ask him and keep bugging. or go see an other doctor or something???
