not exactly true, because an element consist of two or more atoms.

for example 5 atoms of oxygen are considered an element, but 3 atoms of oxyegen and 1 atom of sodium are considered a molecule

but for most general perposes they should be considered as elements

Is a wonderful Aristotle "black&white" question: on the first glance it is really true, because is the definition as mmaakkaa789 posted already above ... but can Buddha's "grey world" also sneak into this answer?

Actually the periodic table contains also all isotopes of the radioactive elements .... meaning this, it contains the radioactive elements in the moment of their change into other elements ...... are they elements in these micro/nano/femto- or whatever-seconds of change or must we consider them in these moments not to be covered by the periodic table??? .... But if we consider them in these moments of change to be covered by the periodic table, then also the ions of all the elements should be covered by the periodic table, shouldn't they? ..... but actually ions are part of compounds, so the periodic table also contains compounds not only elements ......... is fuzzy, isn't it?
