I recently been to the caribbean island Trinidad! It is the butterfly capital of the world! one landed on my shoulder - it was bright blue with black strips - about the size of my hand.

It's funny that although they are beautiful, they can suprise you when they fly by you all of a sudden - can be scary for a second.

I see butterflies everyday - my husband knows that I cannot be outdoors much, so he has planted all kinds of flowers in our bay window viewing area that attract humming birds and butterflies so that I can enjoy them. My favorite one was last fall, I hadn't seen a luna moth, not really a butterfly, since I was a kid, and one was on our walnut tree, just as bright and beautiful. We had an awesome experience this year with a beautiful butterfly. It had cocooned all winter and when it came forth it stayed right in the little area it had cocooned in for about two days and then a mate came to it and we actually were able to see them loving one another and now we have a new cocoon. I hope this is a cycle that will continue for years to come. We have wrens, (birds), and blue birds, house finches - my husband knows my favorite song is "In The Garden", an old gospel hymn, and he has done his best to create that special garden within my viewing, so that as I worship each day I can feel as though I am truly walking and talking with Jesus, in the garden.

It was yesterday, I had several last week. Although, I don't think they are Monarchs. But they are always a pretty sight, in the yard. Kind of makes you smile, when you see them, flittering around.
