Indeed it does, in the rough ER. See the link below

sorry, vector is wrong - ER has to do something only in case of some proteins!! Membrane proteins (those that are attached to a membrane) are only synthesized by ribosomes sitting on the outside of ER. the new protein is pushed inside ER as it is synthesized. then it matures and travels in vesicles detached from ER to the place (membrane) where the protein should function. here the vesicle fuses with the membrane where the protein is needed. this is also the case of proteins excreted from the cell - the vesicles (this is called Golgi apparatus) fuse with the cell membrane and their contents get outside the cell.

but there are ribosomes that are not attached to ER, for sure. and the proteins synthesized by them are not influenced by ER

I can tell you that the ER is the place to synthesis protein.
Every mature proteins have to pass throught the ER for quality control (I called it)
When the protein is not folding properly, it will be either degraded by lysosome or send back to ER to reprocess the folding.
After that, the protein will have to go through one more process in ER called post-translation stage. this stage is the final process of making functional protein.
Is that clear to you?

Um...well I know that
1. ribosomes create/synthesize the protien via transcription/translation of mRNA and dock onto the rough ER's surface
2. the ER helps in transporting the protiens from the ribosomes to other parts of the cell like the Golgi apparatus via transport vesicles

...hmm. But anything other than that I wouldnt be too sure of. =/ Hope whatever I had helps...
