Red Sox Nation fans are in part ex-New Englanders who have moved to other parts of the country and in part people from other parts of the country who have adopted the Red Sox, some without ever having been to Boston or Fenway Park. I have met Red Sox fans at Red Sox road games and there is an instant bond between the natives and the RSN adoptees. A mutual love of the Red Sox and disdain for the Yankees.

It's always been a "nation", even before the world series.I believe it's because there are many fans of the red sox outside of massachusetts; i don't believe any other state in new england has a baseball team. Hence, a little "nation" of fans.

Everytime I work anywhere the Yankess are playing there are these morons who walk around with Boston hats(Even when the Red Sox are not there) on like they are trying to piss the Yankee fans off. What's your problem?
I am not a Yankee fan, and I use to love the Red Sox before Idiot Schilling started running his mouth.

MA, ME, NH, VT, RI, and half of CT, the Red Sox are the local home team.
BTW, the other half of CT is...grrrrrr...Yankee country.
