You can use Massage therapy, to treat it.
Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation are also key. "RICE"
It can cause postural problems, in the long run- so its best to seek out a massage therapist to make sure that you dont end up with a whole wealth of body aches, to add to the tendonitis. When your posture changes, and becomes abnormal, which it will do, to overcompensate for other smaller issues- you end up having postural related pain problems, pulled muscles, tender points and trigger points, added stress, and more.
Massage therapists can really help you to treat the tendonitis issue, and also keep your body in balance, which will help decrease your recovery time. =)

The answer is yes. Tendons bond bone to muscle. Itis is a Latin term meaning "inflammation" or swelling. Thus, tendinitis is an inflammation of the tendon(s) in your elbow. For the first 24 hours, you use ice to help control swelling. After that, alternate heat and ice. Twenty minutes heat, wait a couple hours, 20 minutes ice. I have had the condition so bad that I could actually feel and hear the tendon "squeaking" in there. It is a painful injury that they usually like to give silicone injections for. My philosophy is simple; if God had wanted it in my body, he would have put it in there before I was born. Try to immobilize as much as possible. I used to alternate the heat and ice one right after the other for an hour at a time, but that me.

you could sure try
some soft cotton or sponge under it when you rest your elbows on a table
prefer to fold your arms to your chest
or rest them on your body
it is not a cure
but helps relieve the pain in a few weeks
