You can take it out. But you need to continue using an antiseptic while it closes. Because it was such a shock and you want to get re-pierced, I would wait at least 3 to 6 months after it COMPLETELY heals and go to a REPUTABLE piercing place to have them do it with a needle in a SANITARY environment. Read up, ask around, and do it right this time. Good luck! Oh, by the way, if it is a keloid, keep an eye on it. If it changes shape or gets larger, go to the doctor pronto!

Well guns aren't good to get piercings with because they can cause shock to your body. I have two cartilage piercings and one has a keloid.(from being pierced with a gun) If its bothering you that much then you should take it out the hole will eventually heal but the keloid wont go away. Its best to go too a professional. & i dont mean this stores that give you free earings with the purchase of a piercing.

Go see a real piercer. Make sure they're well-trained and use a needle. Ask him or her all of your questions and make sure you're comfortable with them. Never, ever let someone use a gun because the horror stories are true. They're pretty much okay for ear lobes but needles should be used elsewhere. Chill out, I'm sure your ear is fine but have someone who's experienced check it out before you get another hole.

what is a keloid and where did you pierce? I think if you let it close there usually won't be a scar yo. I've pierced myself with a needle just get an apple to put behind where you are piercing to support the impact and ice it first of course.

You can let it close and start again. Just make sure it heals with no infection. Treat it like you would treat any sore with antibiotic ointment.
