he wont call CPS! he wont let me help him ! me and my friend prank called him one night and made up names and said we were in trouble and tht my so called "brother" just hit me and his cell fone was about to go dead and he told me to call him on his house phone! i didnt think at all and i listened and called his house fone ! omg how stupid am i? his dad woke up!!!!!!! so we got off the fone and he called back and he was crying ! he might be going to an all boy skool in england!! his dad whooped him with a belt 20 times! we cried and we cried and he said this is the first time! there is nothing we can do but sit here and pity him and ourself! i need soooo much help right now it is not even funny! idk wat to do or how to make him feel better! i might NEVER see him again and he is the best guy friend i have had in texas and i dont want him to leave he was always here for me wen i was treated like **** and wen i was in trouble and i went and ruined his life! i feel horrible! please help me

there isn't anything you can do. different house, different family. all you can do is apologize to him profusely and make sure he knows how much he has and does mean to you.
the last thing you should do is to call the police yourself right now. you don't want to get in the middle of this, it could make things worse. on the other hand, if he is being beaten regularly, then that is something that needs to be addressed, talk to him and urge him strongly to find help. maybe not the police, but a help line or shelter somewhere. a school or the police may have that information available.

You can call Child Protection Services in your state and give an anonymous report. If your friend is being abused, his life may be in danger. CPS is required to check out the calls they receive and you don't have to leave your name. Good luck to you and your friend.

try to help yourself don't wait for them if they wont do nothing you should people that abuse others don't deserve to be here they just hurt people people and ruins lifes i know if my best friend's father was like that i know i would do something right away and if i was in that situation would be really disappointed if she didnt help he trust you and i think you should neverlet down your best friend

You should talk to a councilor at school about this as they have experience in this sort of thing and access to resources to solve these sort of problems.

are you sure that you're not overreacting? If you knew that he was being abused, why would you take the risk of getting him in trouble in the first place?

If you really suspect that his dad is abusing him..then you need to call CPS yourself. You can do it anonomously.

call social services!!!!! even whether he wants you to or not you could end up saving his life by making one fone call!!!!
