We don't need disease-ridden flies to eat carcasses. Vultures do the same thing. Just export vultures to all places that flies live. Mosquitos, on the other hand, are disease-spreading parasites, and are therefore nothing but a burden on ecosystems. Eradicating mosquitos would actually strengthen ecosystems.

This would be terrible ! Flies are lovely and oft- maligned ! I have 13 pet flies which I have trained to sing - I have also written a sit-com in which a mosquito may make a guest appearance , although I am finding it difficult to find one with the qualities of a truly great actor . A World without Flies - unthinkable !

If there were no flies then our planet would be covered in dead, rotting, stinking, disgusting animal carcasses. Flies lay eggs in the flesh of a dead animal. The eggs hatch into maggots which eat the dead flesh. Mosquitoes I know nothing about except they bite and can transmit West Nile Virus.

Mollywobbles is exactly right. Without flies and other insects to break down dead flesh, it would be really gross.

if there were no bugs, then that would be great for us, but things that eat bugs (frogs) will need to adjust.
