Been to about half of the states, parts of Canada, parts of Europe, parts of Mexico, Costa Rica, and a number of Caribbean islands; Michigan, however, has been my home for my entire 36 years. Lived most of my live in the northen Detroit suburbs and now live about an hour north of Detroit in Port Huron- also on the Canadian border just like Detroit. Detroit is probably the most racially segregated city/metro area in the country and you would be amazed at the warped sense of the city so many suburbanites and out-staters have of Detroit. So many, generally White, suburbanites (technically, I would be a White suburbanite myself) and out-staters continually slam Detroit although they may never have visited the city (or maybe briefly while driving through or for some short business meeting or maybe a game) based on second and third hand stories they have heard from others; really sad since Detroit honestly does have many things to offer and even sadder that the city is so close to so many suburbanites. True the city has its' problems- there are parts of the city filled with drugs, gangs, crime, etc.; the city WAS the "murder capitol of the world" during the 1970's- a legacy it cannot seem to shake and the city as well as much of Southwest Michigan is currently suffering economically while the rest of the nation is doing ok because the area was so dependent on the Big Three domestic automakers for jobs/careers and they have been continually losing market share to foreign competitors. I try to present a "fair" view on both Detroit and the rest of Michigan based on my knowledge of the state so feel free to contact me if you have any questions on the Motor City or the rest of the Great Lake State.

I try to represent Brooklyn, cuz that's where I was born, but I went to elementary and high school in Queens, live in Queens and got my BA and Master's Degree in Manhattan.

Can a Queen's-living 210-lbs ex-boxer with an MA truly represent?

I get into fights almost every day on the subway...yeah, maybe I do.
