No, it isn't. Under a year, infants have a greater chance of having a milk allergy which can cause bleeding in the intestines, as well as problems with anemia because regular milk is not iron fortified like formula or breastmilk. My friend wanted to put her baby on milk at 11 months because they were going on a cruise and the pediatrician said one month makes a huge difference and not to do it!

No. They need to wait until after they turn 1. It can make a baby sick. Please don't take advice on this from strangers. Tell her to talk to her baby's doctors. Giving a baby milk too early can cause allergy problems. Just because a couple of people were stupid enough to give their baby milk early and they got lucky doesn't mean that your cousin's baby will be as lucky. It is NOT recommended to give a baby milk. There are guidelines that should be followed. What was normal 20 years ago is not safe to do so now...that is why the infant mortality rate has dropped...because people have gotten smarter

As long as the baby has not shown a low tolerance for milk based formula, it is fine to integrate cows milk into her diet. Do it gradually and monitor her reaction. She will let you know if it's too soon.

I agree with Ryan's Mom. Talk to the pediatrician first before switching to cow's milk.

Actually she should wait until the baby's first birthday, you start by giving them 2oz of whole milk 6oz of formula for a couple of days, then 4oz of whole milk 4 oz of formula and so on.

Check w/your pediatrician to make sure.

sure just introduce it slowly to her system..........I was told to give them a 1/4 milk and fill the rest with water just dilute the milk for about a week to see how the babe handles it but don't stop with breast feeding..........or formula...........if babe handles well then continue for like a month but increasing the milk every week...until it's straight milk.....and when it's staight milk in a sippy cup the bottle should be gone by now if there's one...........

No. Never before the first birthday. Introducing milk too early (or giving too much) can cause anemia in babies, as well as other forms of malnutrition.

unless the kid is lactose intolerant it should befine. my kids started taking 2% around that time. however vitamin d milk may be a lil much for its tummy.

if she notices the kid getting constipated tho she needs to stop and go back to formula.
