Penthouse goes theatrical.
Originally came out unrated but should have been xxx.
Scenes of graphic violence, rape, deviant sex and incest.
Stars Malcolm MacDowell, Sir John Gielguld, Peter O' Toole, Helen Mirren, and the girls of Penthouse.
Two hours and thirty six minutes of depraved indifference.
But that was what it supposedly was like in the days of Caligula.
So as history pieces are concerned it is not too bad.
As for the acting it is dwarfed by all the sex but there are some realy good performances there.
It is worth seeing.

Interesting to see great actors like John Geilgood in a movie that includes hardcore sex, to say the least!

i saw the movie some 10 years ago and I enjoyed it thoroughly! not because of the sex but because it potrays a true picture of the roman empire. its historical yet relevant in todays society!

it was terrible. penthouse magazine never tried to make another major motion picture that i know of. most of the actors never mention that they were in that movie like malcolm mcdowell.

I was terribly disappointed by it. I thought it would be historically accurate. It was nothing more than a cheaply done porn movie.
