Depends how you define metal.
Of the gases at room temperature (and pressure, presumably) hydrogen can relatively readily ionize to form H+ in a similar fashion to e.g. Na -> Na+, or Mg -> Mg (2+). This is one possible definition of metal. If you use measures like ductility etc then hydrogen does not count as a metal though....

False. All metals are solid at room temperature, except for mercury, which is a liquid. However, mercury does vaporize qutie readily at room temperature. Few elements are gaseous at room temperature, including Nitrogen, Chlorine, and Argon.
Edit: Tony T, Iodine is NOT a metal, look at a periodic table.

True, but some low boiling point metals have a measurable vapour pressure at room temperature. If you shine a UV lamp at a fluorescent screen and hold a dish of mercury between them, you'll see the swirls of mercury vapour on the screen. And those yellow sodium street lights contain enough sodium vapour to conduct electricity and glow.

False.
If an element is a gas at room temperature AND at one atmosphere of pressure, then it's probably a non-metal. The pressure is important.
Even then, mercury does evaporate at standard temperature and pressure (STP).
So, false.
And, unlike another user claims, iodine is not a metal. Here's a periodic table for you to confirm this:

False.
Mercury is a metal that has an appreciable vapour pressure at room temperature. Hydrogen is a metal in solid form yet is exclusively gaseous at room temperature.

False, it's not nessary that every non-metal are gas at room temperature. Some metals or some non-metals are gas at room temperature.

True.
And i really don't know from where did the first answer come from, iodine is a metal!!! why does he answer if he doesn't know a simple fact like this!
And for another answer (extton) you should say true!
Also, one said hydrogen is a metal! thats not true, just because it is in the first group that doesn't make it a metal!!!
And just because some metals like mercury have some vapour pressure at room temp., that does not make them gases!!

False. Iodine is a metal and will vaporize at room temp. such that, if a little ball is placed on a plate and left over night, it will have evaporated and disappeared by morning.

First of all Iodine is not a metal. It is a nonmetal.
Hydrogen is sometimes considered a metal because it gives away an electron which is one of the characteristics of a metal.
So, not all gases are nonmetals.
