Getting it to stay on a wall is a trick and a half if you don't have the frame or proper studs.

It should weigh about 70 pounds, and it needs to be straight and level to enjoy viewing.

The electrical work is simple, put it near a plug or use an extension cord.

It takes a minimum of three people to do it right. Two to hold it, one to screw it in and step back to make sure it looks "right."

I have "been there, done that." You will probably get it wrong the first time, then you will wish you hadn't destroyed your wall trying.

It is more expensive to DIY and then fix the drywall then to hire the local Circuit City installer for $150 to do it right once.

Better take support of a experienced person. The plasma has to be fixed very carefully & the wall mounting has to be strong to bear its weight otherwise you may end up ruining your plasma. If you want to do yourself keep a table beneath the plasma while mount it on the wall. Keep few chairs or any heavy weight items on the front side of the table, incase the plasma gets disloged the table can take its weight without loosing balance (chair will keep the table balanced). Let the table remain there for at least 2-3 days so that you are sure the plasma is firmly attached.

Please get a professional to do it. I would hate to hear that it fell off the wall or something went wrong. You can probably get a professional carpenter or handyman to do it for $50. If you look them up in the phone book and call around just compare prices and make sure they are insured.

If you are installing to hide all the wires you will need to open up the wall to hide the wires -- then plaster and paint. Or if you have wall paneling you could remove it and then put it back. After installing the mounting brackets to the wall framing you will have to have help hanging it. They are very heavy. Do you have experience with stereos and computer wiring? If you are getting digital TV with a cable provider, they can help with wiring when they deliver.

Its hard, especially if youve now experience. With the sort of money youre paying, get the place you bought it from to install it (most do at extra charge) or an electrician.
