just to correct katrina, there are no coptic christians in lebanon, and if there are, they are all from egypt. the word "coptic" actually shares the same root as the word "egypt" and that sect of christianity is attributed specifically to egypt. Lebanon has the marionites and the president MUST be a christian marionite per the lebanese constitution. The prime minister must be a sunni muslim. This is because when the country was created (by France) there was a christian majority there, but now that the christian population has diminished because of immigration, there are a lot more muslims than christians. Hezbollah is not related to the government but it should be pointed out that they are a shi'ite organization.

Yes, President Emile Lahoud is a Maronite Christian, per Lebanese tradition. But as someone else pointed out, he's been completely discredited, and is a known Syrian flunkie.

The head of government in Lebanon is the Prime Minister, Fouad Siniora, and he's a Sunni Muslim, just FYI. Educated at the American University in Beirut, a former colleague of the assassinated ex-Prime Minister, Rafik Hariri.
