Well, don't kow any pop related Apollo specs, but I know for sure that a cult worshiping the Sun was created during the Roman Empire, but they where all killed, and some say from this cult the Templer Knights came, although a pagan cult, is well known that some of these cults reorientated themselves to christianity.
