My husband and I play lots of games together. Any game that is not too competitive and equally matches you and your mate in skill is a good game for couples. Here are my recommendations:
For couples:
- Abalone
- Backgammon
- Scrabble
- Chess
- Card games, like Gin, etc.
For Adults:
- Trivial Pursuit
- Pictionary
- Boulderdash
For families with small kids:
- Candy Land
- Hi Ho Cheerio
- Cootie
- Elefun
- Kerplunk
- Uno
For families with not so small kids:
- Parchese
- Chutes and ladders
- Operation
- Careers
- Life
- Boggle
- Yatzee
In my family, Monopoly always ends in hurt feelings, so we stay away from that.
Peace!

Monopoly is the best board game just because it's the most classic one. I would say the game Cranium is the best for families. For husband and wife try finding a game that revolves around love, dating, and/or really knowing someone. Scene It is the best game for a party. Trouble, Chutes and Ladders, and Candyland is the best game for children. I know a lot of teens that like to play chess.

Battle of the Sexes is fun for couples, especially if you have another couple over. Trivial Pursuit is always fun, especially the DVD version. For families, I like classics like Life or Monopoly - nothing is more fun for families than that! Scattergories is one of my alltime favorites and can be played as a couple or with the family. If the kids in the family are a little older, Simpson's Clue is fun, too!

yup i admire cheating in monopoly. miscounting and "touchdown" on unowned components, stealing from the economic corporation, claiming fake doubles, getting out of penal complex w/o doubles or paying fifty dollars. i like all of it
