do we care what happen to Lebanon?

If they decide to elect a terrorist orginiazation that has stated their goal is to destroy Israel and America, to part of their government, then no, I don't.

If, by "we", you are referring to Americans ... oh yes, we do.

Let's see.

First off, Israel is generally thought to have the atomic bomb.
This means that there is the potential for this war to go nuclear.
Excuse me: Nuculur.

Second, Hezbolah is perhaps being funded and supplied by
Syria and Iran - and Iran is threatening to go Nuclear.
Not only that, but Iran has moderate to good relations with China
and Russia - two other nuclear states.

Third, Egypt and Jordon are all watching this war very carefully
and perhaps may intervene on the part of the Lebaneze (though
probably not for Hezbolah). That would essentially destroy two
very important treaties with Israel that a lot of people died for.

Fourth, Iran sits on a great deal of oil. People seem to care about that.
Egypt pretty much controls the Suez canal - which is how a lot of
things (including oil) get in and out of that region.

Have I missed anything?

Oh yes: fifth - lots of people are dying and we're not supposed to like that.

I do. But many people may view Lebanon like they view Africa when whole communities were being slaughtered. They may see it as not worth the bother of helping in the grand scheme of things. Very sad. There are many 'people'who do a rating scale when it comes to the human race. Unfortunately the lebanese people are not highly rated. What does their country have to offer the rest of the world? Just like Africa.

what people dint understand is that it is not Lebanon that is attacking Israel . Hezbollah came into Lebanon and then attacked Israel then Israel attacked Lebanon. Lebanon is too weak to force Hezbollah to get out

I do. I think it's terrible that the Iranian-sponsored Hezbollah murderers are hiding behind Lebanese civilians while they attack Israel. So then when Israel defends itself, the poor Lebanese people get killed, which is exactly what Iran / Hezbollah wants. I wish the Muslim world would tell Iran to butt out.
