Met him at a friends' 4th of July BBQ,spent a week getting to know each(the last 3 days of which we were attached at the hip).He calls everyday, more than once.I leave to go spend 10 days with him in a week. The problem? We are 5 hrs. apart & relocating is not an option due to our children. Should I even be thinking about a possible future with this wonderful man or should I just accept it as a summer romance? Go,have fun & come home with wonderful memories & a sad heart?

Hi, I have been there and done that as they say. It is hard. And I will share something else with you....the more you connect....like the 10 days you will spend...you will want to spend more time if you like him that well...then what? when in the beginning you KNOW you can't make a move and he can't either....think on it....if you can find a window open that would allow either if you out to go into the other's world...then go for it...otherwise....stay close to home.

If you are truly determined to be with this guy then continue. My brother had the same problem, he was going to school here and the girl he was with actually lived in another state and had two kids. He ended up moving up there, but after a year or so.

Long distance relationships do work, if you have the strength to make a commitment to them. Before I married my wife of 30 years, we had a distance relationship (700 miles apart) for over 3 years. We found a way to make it work and so can you.

if moving is out of the question for the both of you then I would say there is not much of a future but you might get a good friend out of it
