It all depends how it falls..
If it hit on a flat area.. there is a 30% chance the screen will break..
Its all physics..
Cell phone screens are made of plastic/fiber glass..

i suffered from same prob few months earlier. yes the screen may b spoiled. screen is made up of LCD i.e liquid crystal display. you may not c the screen but cell works..so always hope 4 d best

Small LCD lights. Liquid Crystol Display I belive. Most warentys are void if you send it in with a cracked screen.

I don't know what it's made of -- I think plastic.
