I don't understand why people keep hacking into other peoples computers. It just doesn't seem fair to be blackmailed by some asshole. Some body please help me keep my e-mail safe. I have lost about 5 e-mail address and this time I was just a little smarter than this fool.
Random passwords don't work to make the situation stop. Somebody please give me some advice on this. This guy makes up many different names and stuff and he can come online and talk to me with one of my old yahoo id's. It is just getting ridiculous because I shouldn't have to be subject to this kind of behavior and no one else should be either. Why isn't yahoo protecting our accounts better than this? I am in total confusion.
Any answer or help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried numbers and long words it may be like one of you said I just have a bad security system. Anybody have any suggestions on what type of system I should buy? I think its more that he has some kind of tracking file on my computer. I went and had it fixed but I guess they didn't catch that virus. But they said it was infected with the tojan or whatever it is. So they were supposed to fix it. I thought it was fixed until today. Very sad though that somebody gets they kicks outta messing with other people.

Getting your password isn't really that easy for any hacker especially if you have highly un-guessable combination. bUt in your case I guess the hascker might have infested your system with some kind of spyware or keylogger that keeps reviling your password and other personal information.
To stop this and any further attacks, install a good internet security suite and install a firewall to keep yourself safe.
You can get a Norton or McAffee Internet security which comes with a firewall. This will sure keep your head from trouble.

It depends on how your account is being hacked.
If it's because you're using an insecure password (some variaiton on real words like names or places) then you just need to chose a more secure password (more on this in a moment)
If it's because the e-mail system you're using is insecure, then you need to talk to the systems administrator and ask them what they're doing to fix the back doors into their system
The definition of a secure password has changed over the years. At first, any password over 8 characters was thought to be too big for anyone to guess.
Then as systems became faster and brute force hacking became feasable (guessing words until you get the right one) it was thought that random sequences of numbers and letters was the most secure.
he problem with this is that people can't remember TZq7Vm9 very easily so they would write it down, allowing anyone who looked at the post-it note on your desk to know your password.
The latest "secure" method of chosing a password is the passphrase. You chose a sentence you will remember easily, and will remember is the key to your password, take the first letter of each word, and use them as the password.
For example, The start of Puck's final speech in "A midsummer night's dream" is "If we shadows have offended, think but this and all is mended". Taking the first letters gives you a password of IWSHOTBTAAIM. Very hard to guess, but if you were made to memorize Shakespeare, then it's something you're always going to remember.
To increase the security, you can incorperate numbers and characters into this sequence, Say, your cat died in 1998, you can add 19IWSHOTBTAAIM98 to the password.
Just make the phrase something you're guaranteed to remember.

do you have an internet security suite with a firewall? McAfee makes a good one. otherwise use the windows version. also get spybot-search and destroy and run it a few times. its free to download.

Put symbols, numbers, and caps in your password. Make it as long as the host allows.

Why are you blaming yahoo?
It's probably your security vulnerability and lack of firewall and virus/trojan protection.

If you have not reported this to Yahoo, you should, and that's the best way to start.
