He's too small to eat bugs, but he doesn't seem to be eating anything else. Maybe he could eat ants. He's really tiny and wild.

And no, I'm not returning him to the wild. He's tight, I just need to be able to feed him.

Reading comments from assholes is really annoying. It makes everyone involved angry.
Thank you to those of you that actually gave useful suggestions. I am actually a high school Biology teacher that stumbled across this forum, because I just caught a baby lizard in my classroom today and dropped it in my terrarium with a large grasshopper. I will probably go get some fruit flies or worms for him from the pet store this afternoon.
To those of you making insulting and smug comments, how can you be so outraged that someone would care for a baby lizard? How well do you think they fare in the wild? If he had released it, there is an extremely high probability that it would have been dead by the end of the day.
I know that none of the original commenters will read this, but maybe it will influence those that might agree with their hate-filled and inconsiderate messages.

Sorry but the best answer is let him go outside.
However if you absolutely must keep him you need to find a source of small insects such as baby crickets, fruit flies, baby meal worms, baby roaches etc.
Unless he's a baby horned lizard, he probably won't eat ants as most lizards don't like the formic acid taste.
Be sure to mist him with water on occasion - he will drink the water drops.
Unless it is a nocturnal lizard it will need some sunlight or UVB rays. And calcium supplements.
Be prepared for the baby lizard to die. Even experienced keepers have problems with some new born lizards.
Good luck!

I would just release him, I had a bad experience when I was littler, I found a tiny salamander and decided I was going to keep it as a pet, but he died because he didn't have the proper enclousure or food, it was really sad and the same will probably happen to the lizard you found if you don't either put him back or at least find out what it is so you can care for it properly!

Firstly, I would like to apologize on behalf of the people who have ridiculed you for having a wild lizard...that seemed unnecessary and quite mean. Secondly, you might try a small number of ants and watch closely. There is a chance the ants might bite your lizard so watch out! I think your best bet would be to call a pet store. Just make sure the little guy is in a nice tank with water, a place to hide, and a heat source on one side of the tank (don't let it get TOO hot though). Good luck with the little fella'! =)

It's really selfish of you to keep an animal that you don't know how to feed just because you think its cool. If you want a lizard as a pet, get a bearded dragon or a leopard gecko or something.

FYI nobody is making fun of you, but you really should release it. You have no idea what it is or how to care for it. All reptiles need a proper set-up to survive. What kind of cage do you have? Does he have plenty of room to hide? What substrate are you using? Does it imitate his natural surrondings? Do you have the proper lighting? Reptiles are cold-blooded animals they need special lighting, a heat source and at least a 5% uva/uvb light source to replicate the sun and produce vitamins. Do you have these things? Can you aquire them? Do you know a good Herp Vet? Do you know what kind of lizard he is? Obviously not if you don't know what he eats. How can we tell you what he eats if you don't know what he is? Please release him ASAP! Without proper care he will quickly wither and die. The only excuse for taking a wild animal is to rehabilitate and release. This is why so many animal species are endangered or extinct.

well, i was going to say its a chameleon, but if it can climb up glass, it sounds more like a type of gecko. chameleons have grasping hands that would be unable to climb up glass.. im not sure what type, but almost all geckos eat bugs. try going to the pet store and getting some crickets. i almost guarantee that it will it them... hope this helps.
