I'm not sure, especially in your area, but check your local animal shelter. There may even be a specific Ferret Rescue in your area too.

The ferret from these may not be free, but it should be fairly inexpensive compared to a new one from a pet store. It may also be more social and you could be saving it's life, too.

If you only want one for free because you can't afford it, you should not be getting one. Ferrets can cost a lot of money in the long run, not to mention vet visits.
