I am determined to get a pair of designer jeans, whether it be 7 for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, or True Religion. But, all the jeans are all so long. I'm not short. I'm 5'6", but all the jean legs are so long. I'm determined to get one of those brands though for jeans. I don't know what I should do. Should i take them to a tailor or somewhere that does alterations? Get them hemmed? or whatever?

Find a trusted tailor in your area to have it altered for you, well in your case you want them shortened. My sister and I buy designer jeans, my sister shortens her jeans cause she's short, and I lengthen my jeans cause i'm tall. Remember to wear the shoes that you would usually wear with the jeans, so you can find the exact lenghth you want for everyday. To get it done at this place that me and sister trust, they charge from $7-$10(Can) just to do it and they sew the end back like it was before. So it's a must that you would find a trusted tailor that knows what they are doing and how to sew it back like how it was originally done. This way no one knows that we alter our jeans.

Im short so I have to hem my jeans. My tailor can hem my jeans and make them look like they were never hemmed. I don't know how she does it but she somehow keeps the original bottom part of the jeans. Maybe you can look into finding a tailor that does this same technique. I don't know if there even is a name for this technique but my tailor knows what I mean when I talk to her. Maybe when you do find a tailor that says they can do it, have them practice on a cheap pair of jeans first so you know if you can trust them to work on an expensive pair.

YES ITS POSSIBLE. The only problem is finding someone that can do the alterations for you correctly. Some will suggest merely hemming the pants. If cut right, a true tailor can fix the pants to the correct size. Such as cutting near thigh or knee area... or if the boot cut or taper style is desired then they might raise the dimensions after cutting the bottom (professional hemming).

Definitely take them to a tailor - if you're going to spend that much on the jeans, you might as well invest in good alterations too. Get recommendations from friends/neighbors/relatives, though, as some places do poor work!

Or you could just wear ridiculously high heels all the time :)

designer jeans last long...so it's worth it to put in the money and take them to a tailor.
